Grateful Fast Sunday

A friend of ours posts a blog entry every Sunday called “Grateful Sunday”.  I think that is a wonderful way to focus on gratitude.  For a while now, I have wanted to follow her lead and start a “Grateful Sunday” post.  However, since we really only post about once a week, it would mean all we would post would be the “Grateful Sunday” posts.  This may help my attitude of gratitude immensely but it will not let grandparents see pictures of their grandchildren nor will it let our meager group of readers hear about our wonderful adventures.  Therefore, I thought of a compromise.  I will start a post called “Grateful Fast Sunday.”  I will attempt to write every Fast Sunday a post about those things for which I am grateful.  Additionally, I will try to not listen to my empty stomach and actually write about something more than just food!

This Fast Sunday I am grateful for:

1.   JTP being back with our family.  He was in El Salvador attending a conference most of this past week and was greatly missed.  Every night BLP would ask, “When is Daddy getting home?”

2.  The wonderful L family in our ward.  Both JTP and I serve with members of the family.  Sister L is the Relief Society President and her son is JTP’s counselor in the Young Men’s program. Their bright smiles and warm reception to our family has made me feel at home in this ward.

3.   The opportunity to vote.  JTP and I just filled out our absentee ballots and will mail them in on Monday.  I am grateful that I have a say in who will run the country at the national level as well as the local level.  It is a special opportunity and a privilege.

4.  Fresh squeezed orange juice and nutella.  We had those as part of dinner tonight.  Ok, ok that is the fasting speaking but they did taste wonderful.
