Home Leave Part Three - Utah

We took leave of Star Valley for about a week to visit Utah. We really love going to Utah. It’s especially fun for us to be tourists in a place that we are so familiar with. KRS let us stay at her apartment that has easy access to Salt Lake City. Some of the highlights for us were going to the Museum of Church History and Art. AJP was able to quench his thirst for the presidents of the church by looking at a special exhibit on them. There was also a great interactive exhibit for kids. We spent a long time in a simulated hospital nursery, making stained “glass” windows and doing rubbings.

The big event was a trip to Provo. Provo seems to be a place that you either love or hate. We love it. That sounds strange to many people, but we think we know why. We don’t live there. We visit great friends (like JTP’s brother SMP and his family, the H family and the S family). We also go hang out a BYU and remember a good period in our lives. JTP met with BYU students and TSP took the kids to the Monte L. Beane Life Science Museum. The museum is basically a world-wide collection of animal trophies. We had great luck to run in to LLP and the other AJP there. The kids all had a great time running around and finding their favorite animals. TSP, LLP and the kids also enjoyed lunch at the CougarEats followed by a trip up to the MOA to see an exhibit by Minvera Teichert, TSP’s FAVORITE church artist.

On the way back to SV we stopped in Logan where we had a great time connecting with TSP's brother and his family as well as her aunt. We had some great pizza and played a super fun game. We feel lucky to be able to see so many family members.
