Happy International Women's Day!

Ok, so it was actually Sunday that was International Women's Day.  I hope everyone celebrated it all the same.  International Women's Day always makes me think of a news interview I heard on the radio two years ago.  The person being interviewed was commenting on the role of women in developing countries.  He mentioned that key to the development of a country was the education of girls.  He said that educating a girls is what changes society.  An educated girl becomes an educated woman.  An educated woman gets better prenatal care which in turn lowers infant mortality.  An educated woman teaches her children better hygiene which results in fewer diseases.  An educated woman is better able to support her family which means that the family will eat better and have better living conditions.  In short, an educated girl results in a stronger society.  Just something to think about . . .

I hope you all had a splendid day!
