I almost forgot my monthly commitment this time around. I have been so busy the past six weeks. I have barely had time to reflect but I managed to squeeze it in. This Fast Sunday I am grateful for:
1. Our wonderful extended family. It has been a joy to be in contact with them. Whether it is facebook, blogs, email or phone calls, we have loved keeping up with our extended family. It has been extra special this year to have JTP’s parents here to visit us.
2. Seeing Christmas through the eyes of a child. This is the best time of year to be a child. There are presents and plenty of yummy treats. However, I think the real magic comes because children feel the extra bit of love and generosity that adults are expressing. I wish they could feel it all year-round.
3. The beauty of the earth. I am especially struck by the beauty of Brazil. We went to Rio again with JTP’s parents (a whole post still to come). I am always amazed at how beautiful it is. We went to a beach that looked like a post card. The ride down to Rio was equally amazing. It was so green. Since green is my favorite color, it made it even more beautiful.
