Inter-cultural Trip to Mount Kenya
Each year, the fifth grade at my school goes on an
intercultural (IC) trip. Students and teachers go on these trips with no
parents. I went to Mount Kenya (the highest peak in Kenya and the second
highest peak in Africa). We did not climb it because the teachers said it would
be too “dangerous” and they were a bunch of pansies. So, we camped on the
slopes. My favorite thing was visiting the school. The school had grades one
through five in one classroom. Some of the kids were 15 years old. We planted
trees, played with the kids and had lessons. It was awesome!!!
Getting ready to leave for a day of full of activities.
In the Mau Mau caves
Hiking around Mt. Kenya (not up it.)
Milking a cow
