Grateful Fast Sunday XXXIX

Daffodils are a sure sign of spring. I love to see them peeking up from the grey-brown earth of winter.

I looked back at the number of blog entries this year and realized they have been rather sparse. I only posted something once in February. I have been so preoccupied with our family, pregnancy, school, work, and getting ready to move that the last thing on my mind is to document it on our blog. I suppose that is the real tragedy. We have had so much going on that warrants blog entries that I have not had time to write blog entries about them. As further proof, I am a week late writing this post! Fast Sunday was last Sunday. I have many things to be grateful for no matter how busy I am. This month I am grateful for the following:

1. AJP and BLP are happy and involved. They both received their report cards in the past few weeks. They are working hard and doing well in school. BLP is also taking ballet at the local community center and AJP just finished his basketball season. He also has chess club after school and Weblos once a week. They are busy (but not too busy) and are learning and growing. Their happiness is one of the best blessings we have.

2. Last Thursday was my last day of work. My job has been an incredible blessing. I was able to work as an ESL teacher twice a week at a small school that held classes while my kids were in school. I could not have asked for a more ideal situation. I met students from all over the world and learned many things about their cultures. It was another great blessing.

3. The intensity of my school will be winding down a bit. I took three intensive classes this summer that I had to finish up over the past few months. Each class had a field work requirement and a final project. The due dates were staggered over the past few months. This meant that while I was taking a class in the fall and one this winter, I was finishing up the requirements for the summer classes. It was a lot of work but I just turned in my final paper for the last class I took this past summer. It was a great feeling. Another thing I am thankful for is that come this Tuesday, I will have finished half of the requirements for my current class. When this class finishes in May, I will have completed half of my course work!!! The next half will be a bit tricky with a new baby but I have faith that I will be able to finish. Heavenly Father inspired me to do both and He will open the doors that are needed to accomplish what I need to.

4. The last item is that spring is coming. Spring is my favorite season and always makes me feel more calm and more happy. This is definitely something to be grateful for!

Maybe I missed it in a long-ago post, but what are you studying? What degree will you earn? I admire moms who go back to school. My life timing worked out so simply for me to get my masters before I had children. I'm so glad I did it and don't know if I'd have the energy, will-power, dedication, etc. to do it now. Way to go!
