I have been trying to figure out how to start this post. I started out with a number of exclamatory remarks about how incredible the falls are and then I tried a travel log version. Neither start sounded great so I decided to mostly let the pictures speak for themselves (with a little commentary by me!).
After an uneventful flight and checking in at the hotel we visited the bird park. We saw many, many birds and even held some. We also held snakes.
The next day we went to the Argentine side of the falls. We lost an hour of time (since Argentina is an hour behind Brazil) but saw the falls up close during a boat ride and hikes in the park. We went to the Devil’s Throat (Garganta del Diablo) and got very wet. We saw coatis too close but at least they did not bite.
The last day we visited the Brazilian side of the falls where we saw the panoramic view of the falls. This is where the grandeur and awe really hits you. It was cold and we got very wet but it was amazing.
Here is a quick movie to get an idea of the sound the falls create.
We returned to sunny Sao Paulo without any problems and are incredibly grateful we went.
