Grateful Fast Sunday XV

Sunrise over the Amazon

This Fast Sunday I am thankful for the following things:

1. AJP’s teacher at school. She has spent countless hours helping and encouraging him with his schooling. She genuinely cares about him and wants him to succeed. I don’t think I could ask for more.

2. My opportunity to serve in our church. We are in the midst of planning for our Christmas activity. I cannot describe how thankful I am for all the things I learn at church. I have learned so much about compassion and love as well as humility. Additionally, I am learning the value of silence and restraint when interacting with others. My church service has made me a better person than I ever thought I could become.

3. The beauty of the earth. The earth is truly one of the best gifts that our Father in Heaven gave to us. I feel an intense need for us to care for it and protect it. The upcoming summit on climate change has given me an opportunity to reflect on my role with that. I am not sure of all the details of climate change nor am I sure of the best plan of action. However, I do know that we all need to respect the earth as a precious gift from God. I think if we all did that there would be far fewer problems with the environment.
