Happy Thanksgiving

A few things for which we are grateful . . .

JTP

1. The wonderful people we have met after returning to the U.S. Over the past few months, we have been able to meet people through work, school and church. We have been blessed to be touched by their goodness. We have also reconnected with old friends. We have enjoyed hearing about their adventures.

2. The memories we have of Colombia and the promise of new adventures in Brazil. The two years we spent in Colombia were memorable on every level. As we look back we long for those experiences and as we look forward we anticipate similarly moving experiences.

TSP

1. The beauty of the earth. Our travels these past two years have made me realize what an amazing place we live. It does not matter if it is the desert, the coast or a high equatorial savannah. The earth is a precious gift.

2. The Toyota Corolla. We sold our beloved Toyota Echo in Colombia and upgraded to a Corolla when we returned to the U.S. I am thankful that it is big enough for our family and that, although economical; it still feels like an incredible indulgence.

AJP

1. Turning five. He is thankful he is getting older. He is also thankful he got to eat cake for his birthday. Turning five also meant he could go to Kindergarten. He is thankful for Kindergarten because he gets to read.

2. Christmas. He is thankful because Santa will come. (As Christians, maybe we need to work on the other reason Christmas is important.)


BLP

1. Preschool. She started attending Preschool in Colombia and has continued here in the Washington area. She loves learning and playing with the other children. She also loves the independence it gives her.

2. A wonderful older brother. She is constantly laughing with him, mimicking him and trying to impress him.
