La Maleta de Botero

Yesterday, we went to AJP’s first art show. His preschool is doing a program called “La Maleta de Botero” (Botero’s suitcase). With the program, preschoolers learn about different famous artists such as Botero, Picasso, Miro etc. They then use different media to try and re-create some of the works. AJP’s favorite was a spoof Botero did on the Mona Lisa. It is absolutely adorable. The kids used gold paint and rope for the hair and a paint and fork technique for the shading on her dress. AJP looked adorable standing beside his projects. He was a very proud artist.
