Spring is the best time for activities

Summer officially started this past Tuesday. I had great plans to recap some spring events while we were still in officially in spring but, alas, time ran out. I suppose I will just have to be a season off talking about the great times we had. It was filled with spring soccer, ballet, baby chicks at school, a wax museum, duck guns and birthdays.

AJP LOVED playing soccer this spring. He had a great coach this spring that taught him a lot and worked the team really hard. While soccer is not all about scoring, AJP felt great that he scored in almost every game. He did a fantastic job! I love this picture because it shows him playing offense (his favorite) and in the middle of an action. Thanks to one of his teammates dad that gave us the picture!

BLP became a convert to ballet this spring. She danced a traditional number to Swan Lake. She did a fantastic job. She is here outside of her recital venue right before we went inside. I love how she looks so much the ballet diva part with her hair slicked back and alabaster skin.

This year in BLP's class, Farmer Sharon dropped off some unhatched eggs. The class learned about the development of the chick and watched them hatch. This picture of BLP was in the morning announcements for the whole school district. I love the look of wonder on both of the girls faces.

AJP's class studied people that made a difference this spring. They researched their life, wrote a paper and made a visit to the National Portrait Gallery. They then had a "wax museum" for the parents where the students dressed up like their person and told their life story. AJP chose John Adams. I think John Adams would be proud to have AJP represent him!

The two pictures above are facilitated by a very indulgent grandfather that lets the kids look at his duck gun when they come to visit. The kids love it.

BLP turned six this spring. This is not a very good picture but it is the only one we managed to get. She had a party at a park and invited a bunch of her friends to help her celebrate.
