Grateful Fast Sunday XXX

BLP at about five months right after we moved to Colombia. I took the picture like this - it is not inverted.

The end of school year always brings with it final field trips, field days, ice cream socials, birthday parties, dance recitals and final soccer games. Those all combine to make our life one crazy crescendo before the lazy days of summer start. Unfortunately, for the kids there will be very little of the lazy part of summer. I have scheduled them in some sort of activity for all but about three weeks of their vacation. The activities will keep their brain focused and they will learn new skills and polish up on old ones.

This month I am grateful for many things but here is a list of a few.

1. BLP. She turned six yesterday and has officially left baby and toddlerhood. I will miss those moments but am so excited to watch her grow and learn. She is an incredible girl. She is smart and kind and does it all without fanfare. She is strong-will and persistent. She is as beautiful outside as she is inside. We are blessed everyday that she is part of our family!

2. The master program in ESOL I was admitted to. I start this summer on a master’s program in teaching English to speakers of other languages. This particular program has an emphasis on international education which is where most of my opportunities will be. It is a great blessing since it seems to be custom made to fit my needs.

3. Summer is on its way. I love summer! When I was younger the heat would bother me but now nothing feels better than being outside in 90 degree weather. I love the heat on my skin and the warm air on my face. It is now the cold I have a problem with!
