This is a photo of our wedding that we just scanned.Because of General Conference the first Sunday of this month, our congregation had Fast Sunday today. This past week was kind of a downer for a bunch of reasons that I won’t get into here but even with all that I have so much to be thankful for.
1. Conference last weekend. General Conference is always very inspiring. It is such an amazing gift hearing from living prophets called of God to guide his children. I was particularly struck by President Monson’s talk during the Women’s conference. However, throughout all of conference, I was inspired to how I could be better as well as reassured that if I do my best the Lord will guide me.
2. AJP and BLP. I can’t put into words how thankful I am that I was allowed to be a mother. I was never one to have motherhood as a goal. I am not sure why I didn’t but I really didn’t. I feel so lucky to be able to care for both of my children. For them, I have been brave in the face of danger, done things that scared me to death, spoke up when it would have been easier to remain silent and worked harder than I ever dreamed possible. They have helped me become a better person. I hope that I will be able to return the favor.
3. The community where we live. We were so blessed to get an apartment where we did. It seems like the perfect intersection of all the things we need right now. There is a nice group of women for me to associate with as well as kids for AJP and BLP to play with. JTP does not have a long commute so he is home at a very reasonable time. I can walk to many places and love the trees and ambiance of the neighborhood. We are so blessed.
