I am writing this from my mom's computer in Wyoming. We have had a whirlwind tour of the U.S. and I am exhausted. I will post pictures and an update of our trip when I get back to Brazil on Wednesday. I am excited to sleep in my own bed. I desperately need sleep right now but I did not want to miss my monthly grateful post. I have come to really enjoy writing this post. I think about what I am going to write for a while leading up to the post and try to make it meaningful.
This Fast Sunday I am grateful for:
1. JTP. He was only with us for the Eastern Time Zone portion of the trip. I so much appreciate his calming influence on me as well as AJP and BLP. We spoke on the phone almost everyday but I am still very glad to be going home to see him.
2. Old friends and distant family. This trip we were able to see all of our brothers and sisters (mine and JTP's). It was nice to let cousins play and create memories. I was also able to see some of my cousins and aunts and uncles. It was fun to see how their families have changed and to get reacquainted with them. JTP and I both caught up with some old friends. JTP visited his friend S that he has known since they were both four. I visited with my friend M from college and my other friend M from grade school. I loved being able to talk with them and realizing that with some people time apart does not matter.
3. The blessing of the Temple. My sister was sealed to her family during my visit to Utah. A sealing is a very special ordinance that takes place in the Temple that can unite families forever. One of the special memories was seeing her whole family together dressed in white making promises to each other and the Lord. It is moments like that when it is easy to remember the real purpose of this life.
