Grateful Fast Sunday – Special Easter Edition

We had a great Easter morning.  We hid eggs filled with candy and the kids looked for them.  They loved it.  We also had a service today at church.  It was our monthly fast and testimony meeting so we had a wonderful opportunity for the members of our congregation to bare witness of the power of the atonement and resurrection in their lives.  Hearing these beautiful testimonies of Christ has helped me focus on what I am grateful for today.  I am grateful for:

1.      My knowledge that Jesus Christ is my redeemer.  He truly did pass through trials and tribulations for my sake as well as all humankind.  I know that it is through Him that I can live, with my family, in heaven with God after this life.  Jeffery R. Holland, leader in our church, shared his testimony in the following video.  It is very powerful and gives great insight into how the atonement can affect every one of us.

1.       My precious AJP.  Last week was General Conference.  This means a possibility of 10 hours of church over two days.  While we did not see all of it, we went to one two hour block at the chapel (instead of listening to it on the internet as we did the other times).  AJP colored most of the meeting.  However, when Prophet Thomas S. Monson got up to speak, AJP stopped his coloring and listened intently to the prophet.  I am so grateful that, at such a young age, he recognizes the voice of a prophet of God.

3.     My beautiful BLP.  The peace and joy she brings into my life is immense.  I think she bounces more than she walks or runs.  She still loves to snuggle.  She has recently been very fond of making pronouncements.  She often will come to me and say, “Mom, we can only eat the candy after lunch” or something similar in nature.  I don’t think this post could ever do full justice to her beautiful sweet yet very independent manner.  I am so grateful for her confidence and love.
