We have a great apartment. We don’t really get a choice about where we live or the furniture that goes in it so we are very pleased with what we have. The challenge now is to make it feel like our home by, the best we can, decorating it the way we like. This can be a huge challenge. I am currently in a funk about what to do in our entry way. It is a large octagonal shape that extends out on a large bay of windows. I have put some pictures below in order around the octagon and then in the bay of windows. If any of our few readers have some ideas, please help me!!

Wow. That is one spacious entryway. I think most of our apartment would fit in your entryway and window area. But, I see what you mean about it seeming impersonal. Hmm... I will be thinking about your entryway from now on. What are you allowed to do? Not paint, probably, but hang stuff? I'll be back with ideas! :)
We can paint. However, we have to get it back to the same color we started with. That has made me a little hesitant to paint because it is twice the work and twice the cost. There is not too much actual wall space either. Most of the area has openings because of the doors. However, maybe paint could do the trick? I was also thinking of some plants. Your ideas are definitely appreciated!
Are you open to purchasing furniture? If so I would buy a table for the wall inbetween the window area and your living room. It would then ground that wall and you could include a lamp and hang some art work above it. And adding some personal nick nacks will also help make it a little more personal. I would then place a tall plant across from the table and an umbrella holder would look great next to the door. And in the window area maybe you could buy a couple of chairs and a little table to make a sitting area to enjoy the view. I would have the setting area facing the windows not up against the windows. I am not an interior designer, but maybe those ideas could help you get your juices flowing. Good luck.
Sorry that last comment was me and it didn't make any sense. What I was trying to say was I love your place. It looks amazing. AMAZING. I do have some ideas for your entry if you're still looking. Send me an email and I'll email you back because I'm a little too long-winded about design for the comment section.
