Small Blessings

Usually, I take the kids out to do errands on Saturday mornings to give TSP some time to accomplish her Saturday tasks. I had to run two errands yesterday and the kids weren’t quite ready. I normally wait until they are ready so we go a little later than I want to. For some reason yesterday, I told TSP that I needed to leave because we would be busy in the afternoon. I got to my first destination early and had to wait for the store to open. After getting out quickly, I was off to destination #2 (Best Buy). I stopped at a red light and as I waited for it to change I was rear ended. Not a huge deal (although we will be taking the car in tomorrow) but a pain nonetheless. After exchanging information with the other driver, I continued to Best Buy. When I pulled in I had the emotional realization that had the kids been with me things would have been different. Normally at that light, we look at the birds on the power lines. This means that AJP would have been in an awkward position and I don’t know what the impact would have done to him. BLP would have been in her car seat, but emotionally she would have had some problems. I realized, at that moment, that God had done me a huge favor.
