Português II

On Monday, I got the results from my Portuguese mid-term. I got 4.75 out of 5!!! I was very worried since I have to pass the first level to advance to the second. The test was divided in to two parts, written and oral. The written part was not terrible with the exception of any portion that required me knowing gender. I continuously use the incorrect gender with Spanish so, of course, I assumed it would be worse in Portuguese. This is especially true since Portuguese even has gendered possessive pronouns! Thankfully, the written portion did not turn out as bad as I thought. The oral portion was absolutely frightening, however. We actually had to speak extemporaneously about a subject with our instructor. I was convinced I failed this part. Apparently, the standard was not too high. I am really having a great time in this course (and learning some Portuguese as well).
