For the past few months, I have been thinking about what I
wanted to do with our blog. I don’t
think we have posted on it for almost a year.
The life updates that we used to put up are now on facebook. My other posts fell victim to a crazy time and
have not recovered. With the start of a
new year, I thought I would reinvent our blog.
I have been thinking for a while now about all the women in history that
have not told their stories. There is a diversity
of reasons for their silence but I realized that I did not want to be one of
them. Speaking about myself, my past, my
thoughts has been difficult but the more I thought about these women of the
past, the more I knew I had to tell my story.
My story is nothing special but maybe it can be found by someone – a child,
a distant relative, a stranger – and give them something they need. More than anything, though, I hope to give
myself a voice and stand as a witness that quiet voices do matter even if they
only whisper.
So here it goes: conmigo-contigo
