Grateful Fast Sunday XXXXV

AQP trying to feed herself cereal the first time she had it. She liked the cereal but I don't think she loved the spoon.

Fast Sunday was last week.  I can’t seem to find time on Fast Sundays any more to write this post.  The expats from our congregation have started a tradition of getting together for dessert on Fast Sundays.  It is so nice to get together with people in a similar situation once a month.  However, it does mean that I usually don’t get to my monthly grateful post until the Sunday after Fast Sunday.  It does not really matter since I usually spend the week between the first Sunday of the month and the second pondering what I have to be grateful for.  This month I am grateful for the following.

1.  The kids.  JTP and I have been blessed with some incredible kids.  They are so flexible and patient.  They have made parenting a wonderful experience.  This past week was especially exciting because AQP started solids.  It was so fun to see her hit this milestone and to see how excited both AJP and BLP were about it as well.

2.  My Primary class.  I teach the 6 and 7 year olds in the Primary of our congregation.  This is sometimes a challenge because English is not the first language for most of the children.  The children are so sweet and earnest.  I see their beautiful eyes just soaking up the teachings of Jesus.  The experience is made all the more exciting because I teach BLP.

3.  The beautiful landscape of Kenya.  The glide rocker where I nurse AQP is located in a nook with windows on all sides.  Every time I nurse AQP, I look out the windows at the beautiful trees and flowers.  It makes me so happy to see this.  AQP also likes it because she will often gaze out the window after she has finished nursing.   I am looking forward to see more of this landscape when we go to the Maasi Mara in a few weeks.
