Our happy baby - AQP
1. The country is beautiful. It looks like what I would imagine the Garden of Eden. There are flowers and green trees covering big ravines. The weather is always about 70 degrees. It is easy to forget what day it is or what time it is. (We also don't have many clocks in our house yet).
2. I didn't realize how connected I was until I have had to deal with less than ideal internet. We are playing a lot of board games since we have no tv and limited internet. It has been good to just spend time together.
3. Having a full-time guard is creepy. We have a guard for just our house. It is weird to see him doing his rounds. It makes one very cautious about walking out of the bathroom after a shower.
4. I feel like I have stepped back in time. It seems like everything I am experiencing is from the 1950's. I can't really put my finger on it but I feel like I am in a time warp. I will ponder this and maybe post why later.
5. It is really nice to be able to tell the kids to go outside and play. We have never been able to do this where we lived and it is great. I also don't worry much about their safety (see thought #3).
6. Driving on the left side of the road is more difficult than I thought. I turned into oncoming traffic the other day. The oncoming cars were pretty far away so it wasn't a big deal but it was pretty scary. The worst part was that it did not feel strange - until I saw the car coming right at me.
Overall, we are adjusting well. I hope to post more after the big kids go to school and we get some help.

Repeat this in your head as you drive: "Wide rights, tight lefts. Wide rights, tight lefts." A friend told me that before we left for the UK, and it seemed to help. Soon, it'll feel weird to do it the other way.
And, a guard?! Yikes! Do you need one to go shopping? What about taking the kids to school?
The school sounds fantastic! I'm glad to know you are all safe.
