Grateful Fast Sunday XXI

This is AJP and BLP at Old Faithful in Yellowstone. This is one of our adventures this summer. A post on the subject is in the queue.

I was just saying to JTP that our afternoon church schedule is killing my blog entries. I guess I could do them in the morning but I always find something else to do (usually sleep in!) I then remembered that I needed to do this post. I really enjoy it so I will quickly do it before I go to bed. I am grateful for the following this Sunday.

1. I can see the light at the end of the cluttered and disorganized tunnel that is our apartment. It is coming together nicely. I still have a number of things to do but at least we don’t have to live in fear of tripping over things.

2. I have a co-den leader!!! Yes folks, my new calling is den leader. It took a few weeks but I now have someone to help share the responsibility. I would also like to note that this calling is evidence that God does have a sense of humor. I said not even a year ago to JTP, “If you want AJP involved in scouts, you will have to do it. I really don’t want anything to do with it.” HA!!! God saw it differently. He knew that this would be a great opportunity for AJP and me to work together and bond. I was hesitant at first but now view it as a blessing to be able to spend time with AJP. (FYI in our church we receive “callings” which means we are asked to help out in different areas of the congregation. It is a vital part of our church since we do not have a paid clergy. Our church, through its different congregations, sponsors Cub Scout packs.)

3. School starts on Tuesday!!!! Hallelujah!! I love my kids but we need a break from one another. We also need the structure that school will bring. August has been a rough month for all of us with all of the things we have had going on. I hope September will slow down a bit (but I am not holding my breath – I would probably die of affixation.)
